Principal's Message - Felicity Wilde
Dear Families,
We have had another wonderful 2 weeks at St Joey's. Our amazing Community forum has been working hard planning our Community Fair, we were visited by the Bishop for Confirmation, and our students have continued to achieve our high expectations in learning and love.
Although we only have 2 more weeks in the term, there is still a lot to come.
Athletics Carnival
Our postponed Athletics Carnival will be happening at school on Thursday, 26 June. All events other than the 200m races will happen on this day. We will also be holding our Health Hustle competition. All students need to wear their Sports Uniform, or house colours and bring a drink bottle and hat. All parents are invited to join us for this wonderful day. The 200m races will be happening on Monday, 23 June. Only students who have been given permission through Compass will be permitted to attend. |
Woodburn Winter Festival
On Saturday, 28th June, we will be holding a stall at the Woodburn Winter festival. This will be an opportunity to share our amazing school with the wider community. It would be wonderful to have some of our students supporting us on the day, showing the children how to use the digital technologies on display and talking to others about what they love about St Joey's.
I will be developing a roster so the children will only have to donate a short period to help out. We would like the students dressed in their sports uniform whilst rostered on.
More information can be found on the Compass Event that was shared with all parents. Please give consent for this event if you would like your children to attend.
St Joseph's Cracker Night and Community Fair
Our Community Fair has been moved to Saturday, 23rd August (from Friday, 22nd August). This decision was voted for and passed by the Community Forum to ensure the Fair didnt clash with local children's sports. Our Community is currently working hard to find sponsors for our fair to allow it to be the best possible community celebration it can be. Sponsorship letters and forms have been sent home to everyone on Compass, so if there is anyone you know who may like to sponsor a part of our fair, for as little as $100, please pass on the sponsorship details using these. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the Community Forum via email sjwcforum@gmail.com |
School Disco- Wednesday 2nd July 5:00 pm
Our Community Forum is holding a School Disco for our students on Wednesday, 2nd July.
All families are invited to join us from 5 pm-6:30 pm in the School Library for this fun afternoon of dancing and catching up.
As this is a parent-run event, all students must have a designated supervisor at school for this.
There will be a sausage sizzle, drinks and lollies available for purchase.

Superstar Learners
Congratulations to this fortnight's Superstar Learners. These students have been demonstrating exemplary dedication, perseverance and a positive attitude toward all that they do in class. Upholding St Joseph's high expectations in learning and love.
Brooklyn is learning to; leave spaces between her words, write from left to right, stretch out her words and reread her writing.
Oliver has shown great persistence this week with his informative writing about dinosaurs. He also impressed his teachers with his wonderful independent work in Literacy Teams. What a superstar!
Lachlan Salmi. He's been absolutely crushing it in maths, showing incredible dedication and focus. Lachlan is always engaged in lessons, offers thoughtful responses, and never shies away from a challenge
Sonny, Jackson and Sophie have been learning how to use compass points to direct people around their 3D map. They worked well as a team and didnt give up when they faced obstacles in their design.
Izzy and Amahli have been experimenting with a variety of art concepts, including line, shape, design and texture to create their own unique, tribal inspired masks.
