Religious Matters: Megan Boyd
This Sunday's Gospel Reading:
Matthew 25:1-13
Jesus is teaching his disciples the importance of being prepared to receive the Kingdom of Heaven.
In this week’s Gospel Jesus wants his disciples to understand that the exact day and time of the coming of the Kingdom cannot be predicted. He teaches the disciples that they must remain vigilant so that they will not be caught unprepared.
Saint John of the Cross has said,
“In the evening of our life we will be judged on LOVE” So we must remember it is important to love, love others, love God, and be loving even when confronted by difficult situations. A life lived based on love is a life worth living.
SOCIAL JUSTICE INITIATIVE CATHOLIC MISSION FUNDRAISER
ROCKTOBER SOCKTOBER DANCE PARTY
Thank you for your generous support!
We thank our students and teachers for wearing colourful socks in a creative way - we saw socks in hair, on arms, around the waist, and in every possible way that you could think of. Also, thank you for your coin donations.
We are very happy to share that we have raised $151.
The money donated for our ROCKTOBER SOCKTOBER DANCE PARTY fundraiser will be given to Catholic Mission, to support the Arrupe Centre, in Cambodia, which strives to show the love of God through caring for and empowering those in need.
Each classroom has a mission box and all money donated from now until December will also be sent to the Children's Catholic Mission appeal.
