SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION
Gospel Reading
Matthew 28:16-20
Jesus sends his disciples to make disciples of all nations.
This Sunday is called the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, and on this day, we remember that God has revealed himself to us in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This sign reminds us that through our Baptism, we share both in the life of the Blessed Trinity and in the Church’s mission to teach all people about Jesus.
St Josephs Woodburn MINI VINNIES – Community Fair
Our school community is very proud of the Mini Vinnies members who gave up their time during the recent Community Fair to monitor the Fishing Game and Ball Games. Our students certainly were using their Head, Hearts and Hands to assist their young customers. The empathy, compassion and kindness of our Mini Vinnies were impressive. We thank them for their selflessness and commitment.
National Sorry Day -26th May
We thank our Kindergarten students and Mrs Barnes who did a wonderful job this week leading our school in a prayerful liturgy acknowledging National Sorry Day. May 26 National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations. Our gospel values of respect and forgiveness acknowledge the need for reflection and prayer on this day.
MAKING JESUS REAL - (MJR)
At St Joseph’s Woodburn we encourage our students to “Make Jesus Real’” by the way they act in our school community and while at home and out in the community
MJR at St Joseph’s Woodburn encourages our students to be WEST people - that is WELCOMING, ENCOURAGING, SAY SORRY when needed and be THANKFUL.
