RELIGIOUS MATTERS- Mrs Megan Boyd
SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION The 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading: Mark 5: 21-4 Jesus heals an unwell woman and raises Jairus’s daughter from death.
This week’s Gospel shares two stories of healing. One story tells us about a father’s great love for his dying daughter. The other story tells us about a desperate woman who risks much as she seeks lasting healing from Jesus. In each story, the request for healing is itself a courageous act of faith.
Sometimes our faith leads us to seek out Jesus in times of need, when we do this we are affirming Jesus as God’s Son. We may like to pray, and ponder upon what, and who nourishes our faith
MAKING JESUS REAL - (MJR)
At St Joseph’s Woodburn we encourage our students to “Make Jesus Real’” by the way they act in our school community and while at home and out in the community
MJR at St Joseph’s Woodburn encourages our students to be WEST people - that is WELCOMING, ENCOURAGING, SAY SORRY when needed and be THANKFUL.
