Dear Families

This week Sophie and I have had the opportunity to spend some time with our Kindergarten students for 2022 and their parents. It is always such a joy to have one on one conversations with pre-schoolers—I love their enthusiasm to learn, excitement and initial understandings of all that big school holds. It has also been a good time to talk to both our current and new parents.  I am particularly interested to hear why people choose St Joseph’s for their child. The answers include

A big thank you to our parent community for your adherence to the current Covid guidelines. We continue to keep those people in our prayers who are in lockdown situations and those who are ill because of the virus. Some reminders from those guidelines include 

• All visitors must sign in to both Service NSW COVID Safe Check-In and WOL (Who’s on Location). This allows us to meet child protection and emergency management legal requirements, AND the Service NSW COVID tracking QR system.
• Unfortunately, under the current guidelines parents are not permitted to visit classrooms or attend sporting events or assemblies. All group gatherings have been cancelled including parent-teacher interviews. Face masks are essential when entering the Office.   
• Unwell students, staff and visitors:
  If your child has cold or flu symptoms, please follow the health advice, get tested and stay at home while unwell. Students who are unwell and attend school will be sent home with the request to get tested. Visitors who have cold or flu symptoms will not be permitted to enter the school.

The next Parent Forum meeting will be held this coming Monday 26 July in the Library at 6 pm. The current COVID guidelines will be adhered to.

The 2021 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) will be held again this year at St Joseph's for students Year 2 - 6 in  English, Mathematics, Science, Digital Technologies, Writing and Spelling. Today is the last day for student registration.

OUR KINDERGARTEN WRITING STARS

We are so proud of our Kindergarten students 'sense' writing this week!

IN WEEK 2 OF TERM 3 WE ARE TRULY GRATEFUL FOR:

• Our Mini Vinnie Presidents Charlotte and Lean for the amazing job that they are doing in teaching us about Making Jesus Real every day. 
• Our parents for being so understanding and adhering to the current guidelines
• Kindergarten for your amazing writing!
• Our Director and all the staff at Catholic Schools Office, Lismore for their communications and support during COVID.
• Our Technology Officers Greg and John for their support of all things technology on a daily basis.
