RELIGIOUS MATTERS- Megan Boyd
SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading
Mark 10:17-30 (shorter form Mark 10:17-27)
A man with many possessions asks Jesus what he must do to gain eternal life
In this week's reading, Jesus is telling us that money and possessions can sometimes become more important to us than doing what God wants. Jesus wants us to be careful about our attitude toward material things. If our possessions stand in the way of loving God or loving others.
Jesus does not expect us to give up everything we have, but he does want us to make a change. He wants us to use what we have to support and help others, so not to keep what we have to ourselves, but to share.
Please note that Bishop Greg would like to speak to the children and parents in the church at 5:30 pm.
As in the past, our Parish Schools will support a Sacramental Program to assist parents in supporting their child’s faith journey in a meaningful way prior to the celebration of Confirmation. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, children are taking home the Sacrament of Confirmation Preparation Book. The program contains four informative sessions. The parent Information and support is extensive enabling parents to support their child's faith journey at home.
We ask that you keep the following students and their families in your prayers.
Sophie Flanagan, Meluca Jett, Rose Quirk, Sunni Reese, Ayla Stahl and Philippa Swanson
