MINI VINNIES NEWS
We have received a letter from Renee Arringer from the Lismore St Vincent de Paul society thanking our students for their generous donations throughout the year. She states, " Your local President Mr Paul Muldoon wishes to acknowledge your student's extraordinary drive and enthusiasm with certificates and badges."
Our Mini Vinnies were presented with their badges and certificates during their meeting this Tuesday. We thank Mr Muldoon for his acknowledgement and support.
Our next school initiative will be to fill Christmas hampers for the needy in our local community.
STUDENT DISCIPLESHIP RETREAT – EXURO Year 5 2021
Exuro is a one-day Faith Retreat experience using various prayer methods, group processes and student-led discussions to equip students to be faith leaders in their parish school communities. With the cancellation of Exuro for Year 5 students in 2020 due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, the Exuro retreat program has been made available to schools.
St Joseph's Woodburn Year 5 will participate in this retreat experience at school on Tuesday 16th November.
Theme: DISCIPLESHIP - Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in your speech, your conduct, your love, faith and purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12
Exuro (Latin for “on fire”) is a student discipleship formation program for year 5 students that will strengthen the spiritusl lives of students and keep the fire and passion of Proclaim Lismore Students alive in parish primary schools.
THE SPIRIT OF JESUS - MAKING JESUS REAL (MJR)
At St Joseph’s Woodburn we encourage our students to “Make Jesus Real’” by the way they act in our school community, while at home and out in the wider community.
How do we show the Spirit of Jesus? Every time we are respectful, grateful and remember the sacrifice of others.
MJR at St Joseph’s Woodburn encourages our students to be WEST people - that is WELCOMING, ENCOURAGING, SAY SORRY when needed and be THANKFUl.
If we have the spirit of Jesus in our hearts, then we are kind, compassionate, welcoming cheerful, giving, forgiving, encouraging, cheerful, friendly and thankful.
