Dear Families
The continuing conversation this year is about ‘roadmaps’: finding pathways to healthy, safe ways of connecting – for everyone.
Our Leaders entice us by offering small steps to an opening up, lightening hearts with the hope that all can be ‘home for Christmas’.
But it is an opening up for which all of us are to engage in preparing – that all might know health, freedom and security.
The Advent Season, too, is our annual ‘roadmap’, as we wend our way towards the Christmas Manger. The weekly Word unfolds the kind of road God desires to shape, its destination, and our part in enabling it, that God’s desire comes to birth.
Then, on arriving at the Manger, we will be at one with the Christchild, who modelled the Way for us – in His time, and for all time: the way of light, joy and peace.
(Liturgy of Ritual Prayer)
As we begin the journey of Advent leading up to Christmas may we seek to live in peace with others. Give us the courage we need to be loving and forgiving, full of mercy, compassion and understanding. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name. Amen
CHRISTMAS PICNIC
Due to the current COVID restrictions for schools, we are unable to finish the year with our usual School Christmas performance and attendance at the local Christmas Carols as a School. However, in order to have some form of celebration of finishing the 2021 School Year we have decided to have a family Christmas Picnic at the School on Wednesday 8 December 2021.
Please accept this as a welcome invitation to attend. It will be held from 5.3opm - 8.30pm. Families are invited to bring their own food, drinks (NO ALCOHOL), blankets and or seats. There will be Christmas songs and music playing and hopefully, some very jolly person in a red suit will be making an appearance.
At this stage we do have to abide by all the current COVID regulations on the night, that is, everyone must QR code to enter and all who attend must be double vaccinated.
We hope this will provide a great opportunity for us to get together, to celebrate that we made it through, and to eat, talk, laugh and say goodbye to 2021.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE ON THE 8TH
As Year 6 2021 get ready to enjoy and celebrate their last couple of weeks at Primary School, we begin to look to the Year 5 students and their potential for leadership for 2022. We are also mindful of how grateful we are to the 2021 School Leaders for their outstanding leadership this year.
Next Monday following an Advent Liturgy, the Year 5 students will present their leadership speeches to the whole school. Students in Years 2-5 will then participate in voting for their 2022 School Captains and Vice Captains. The announcement of the Students chosen for those positions will take place in Week 10.
We wish all of the Year 5 students the best of luck with their speeches next Monday. It takes a lot of courage to present to the whole school but it is a great beginning step-up to their roles for next year. We are very proud of their efforts.
LEADERSHIP THANK YOU AFTERNOON
Next Tuesday we will hold a leadership thank you afternoon for our Year 6 Leaders and SRC representatives. It is important to acknowledge their leadership role throughout 2021 and their impact on students and staff.
This year the afternoon will be held during school time. It includes some games, a snack and reflection and acknowledgement (certificates) of their leadership.
