    Principals Message

    Dear Families,

What a wonderful week it has been celebrating Catholic Schools Week and the theme of 'Living our Mission'.

    • On Monday we started the week with Stage 1 leading us in a beautiful Liturgy to introduce us to Catholic Schools Week.

    • Tuesday, the Student Representative Council shone by organising a 'Living Our Mission' Amazing Race that contained Jeopardy; Poster and video making around being at St Joseph's, and an obstacle course to save a precious commodity-water.

    • On Thursday our Year 6 students went back to Woodburn to revisit our community, do acts of service and give gifts (plants made by Kindergarten) to the shopkeepers and the PreSchool  (kites made by Mini Vinnies) to let them know that we are still thinking of them.  Stage 2 has made presents and cards for some of the people who have been very supportive of us over the last 15 months.

    • Today, we finished our week with a beautiful Catholic Schools Week Mass attended by many parents.  Parents were then welcomed into open classrooms and we all enjoyed a shared picnic lunch together with the added bonus of Pie Day Friday.

      GOSPEL REFLECTION:

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity,

      Gospel Reading:  John 3:16-18

God sent his Son into the world to save the world.

      holy_trinity.webp

The reading this week recalls the action of God, who reveals himself in three persons: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father, out of love for the world, sent his Son into the world in order to save it. Through the death and resurrection of the Son, we have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit. As three persons, God always acts as a God of love. We can proudly say that our Catholic School's Week, Living Our Mission" activities reflect that LOVE.

      FUN FACT JEOPARDY QUIZ

This year as part of our Annual School Improvement Plan:
Improve our students and staff's understanding of the Catholic Values on which our school was built by ensuring they are visible in actions, words and physical symbols
To support our school improvement plan, during Term 2 we will have a Spirit of Jesus Fun Fact Jeopardy Quiz for all students.
Students will be organised into their Spirit of Jesus teams and answer questions about our history and traditions.
Each week our Vice Captains Beau Jubber and Charlotte Robinson share at the Monday morning assembly questions that will be asked during the quiz.

      Fun Fact No 10

      SPIRIT OF JESUS AWARD

At St Joseph's we encourage our students to look for the goodness in others. Our school Vice Captains-Mission this year Charlotte Robinson and Beau Jubber have been given the responsibility of helping to acknowledge students who demonstrate the attitudes and gospel values that show the Spirit of Jesus.

If we have the spirit of Jesus in our hearts, then we are kind, compassionate, welcoming, cheerful, friendly, encouraging, giving, forgiving thankful, and respectful. This week the Spirit of Jesus Award was presented at the assembly to Kindergarten.
