STAGE 2 CAMP
From all reports, the Stage 2 children have had an absolutely amazing time on their excursion at Camp Goodenough over the last few days. We look forward to them returning this afternoon and hearing all their stories about the fun, learning, and successes they have had.
We are extremely grateful to the Sisters of Mercy from Grafton for their financial support of the excursion.
A big thank you to their teachers Mrs Cronan, Mr Sandral and Mrs Sheree George for their amazing efforts in organising the camp, and for their all-day and night care of the children while they were away.
KINDERGARTEN 2024
Next week, I will have the opportunity to spend some time with our Kindergarten students for 2024 and their parents during their interviews. It will be a joy to have one on one conversations with our pre-schoolers. I love their enthusiasm, excitement and initial understanding of all that big school holds. It will also provide a wonderful opportunity to talk to both our current and new parents. I am particularly interested to hear why people chose St Joseph's for their child. From their responses, we will get a snapshot of our school from the outside looking in. We get to know how some of the community feels about the teaching and learning; the inclusiveness; the values; the community and the Catholic ethos that permeates all. We continue to strive on a daily basis to make St Joseph's the best school it can be, and in that process, we always welcome and value your input.
This a reminder to our current families who would like to enrol siblings for next year, we are enrolling students now. You can enrol online on our School website or collect your enrolment pack from the office. Please let us know if you would like one sent home. The enrolment interviews will be held in Week 3 of Term 3.
Please make sure that you spread the word to friends and relatives who are looking to start their child in Kindergarten in 2024
Junior Joeys- Kindergarten 2024 Transition Program (7 weeks) will begin on Wednesday 16 August 2023 9am-11am.

History and Traditions of St Joseph's School Woodburn
This year as part of our Annual School Improvement Plan - we aim to improve our students and staff's understanding of the
Catholic Values on which our school was built by ensuring they are visible in actions, words and physical symbols
To support our school improvement plan, during Term 3 we will share the quotes and sayings of Saint Mary Of the Cross MacKillop. her words of wisdom are inspirational and guide us in understanding the teachings of Jesus.
Each week our Vice Captains Beau Jubber and Charlotte Robinson will share a significant quote or saying of Saint Mary MacKillop at our morning school assembly. Our first quote is: We must teach more by example than by word.
On 18th June 2015 the Encyclical letter “Laudato Si” was published. This is a letter written by Pope Francis concerning the ecology and Climate and Care for our Common Home.
‘Rather than a problem to be solved, the world is a joyful mystery to be contemplated with gladness and praise.’
The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change.
The Creator does not abandon us; he never forsakes his loving plan or repents of having created us.”
