Week 8- Term 3 - 2021
Dear Families
Another week down in these unusual times. And what a week it was, with our Home/School Book Week celebration and some Father's Day activities. Thank you for your continued support and the terrific work that you are doing to help your child/children with their Blended Learning. I'm hearing from the teachers and witnessing first-hand some of the final products being submitted or photos thereof. I'm so proud that our students are giving this Blended Learning their best.
I know that at times some of our children are finding it hard to get motivated and stay focussed but as I say to any parents that I have been speaking with - every day is a new day to start again. Some days it just won't happen and that is OKAY! Go gentle on yourselves and the children. All we can ask is that you remind them of our expectations of their learning for that short part of the day. I know that the teachers are addressing it with the older students if they aren't doing any work. Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the school if you have any concerns.
As soon as we hear any news of the much-awaited return to school, we will inform you.
The learning packs for next week will be available at the school from 8.30 am next Monday.
FATHER'S DAY
This Sunday we celebrate those very important men in our lives- our dads and those who are like dads to us. Unfortunately, this is the second year that we haven't been able to celebrate our dads together as a School and provide them with a beautifully cooked breakfast. That, however, doesn't stop us from acknowledging the most important part they play in our lives. The children have sent in some dad jokes and beautiful photos as a tribute to their dads. I know that every single student will show in their own way, their gratitude and love for dad this Sunday.

SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading: Mark 7: 31-37
Jesus restores a man's hearing and speech.
In this week's Gospel, a man who is deaf and cannot speak is brought to Jesus. Jesus takes him to one side to heal him.
He puts his fingers in the man's ears and puts some spittle on the man's tongue. This seems a strange action but in those days the spittle of an important person was considered to have powers that could cure.
All the people present were amazed at the wonderful things Jesus did. With God's grace, he healed and restored the spirit of many who were in great physical and spiritual need.
Today we can reflect and ponder on the significance of the gift of touch and how important it can be. The simple gesture of holding a loved one’s hand can be reassuring, comforting, healing and an acknowledgement of love.
